Terms of service.
The agreement between you and Lumi when you book a salon, run a studio on Lumi, or otherwise use the platform. Plain language; the substance is binding.
What this covers
These terms apply to every interaction with Lumi: booking a salon as a customer, running a studio as a salon owner, the marketing site, the consumer apps, and the owner dashboard. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Lumi.
Your account
Customers don't need a permanent account to book — but you can create one to keep your bookings synced across devices. Salon owners need a verified account before publishing a booking page. You're responsible for everything that happens through your account; keep your sign-in method secure.
Bookings and the booking page
When you book a service, you're entering a contract with the salon — not with Lumi. Lumi facilitates the booking, sends the reminders, processes any deposit, and keeps the record. Disputes about the service itself are between you and the salon. Lumi will help where we can, but we don't deliver the service.
Payments and deposits
Where the salon offers Stripe deposits, your card is charged at booking time and held under Stripe's terms. Where the salon is in cash-on-arrival mode, no money moves until you turn up. Lumi never holds funds on its own balance sheet — Stripe Connect handles the money.
Cancellations
Each salon sets its own cancellation window — usually 24 hours. Cancellations inside the window may forfeit any deposit and count on your Lumi reputation. Cancellations outside the window are refunded according to the salon's policy. The cancellation window is shown on every booking confirmation.
If you run a salon on Lumi
You agree to: keep your services and prices accurate, honour confirmed bookings, respect the cancellation policy you've set, treat customers fairly (no discrimination based on protected characteristics), and not abuse the manual-approval routing for purposes other than legitimate no-show risk management. You retain ownership of your customer data and can export it at any time.
Ending the relationship
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, particularly around fairness, accuracy, or attempts to defraud the platform. We'll explain why; we won't destroy your data immediately — you have 30 days to export.
Limits of liability
Lumi is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but don't guarantee zero downtime. We aren't liable for the quality of services delivered by third-party salons, for losses caused by your own breach of these terms, or for indirect or consequential losses. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees you've paid us in the previous 12 months.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia for Serbian users, and by English law for users elsewhere. Disputes are first resolved in good faith between us; if that fails, the courts of Belgrade or London (whichever is your jurisdiction) have exclusive authority.
